He may be one of the youngest coaches in international rugby, but Tomaz Morais was the mastermind behind Portugal’s qualification for a first ever Rugby World Cup!

As a player he was part of Cascais’s "golden" generation winning more than half-doze national titles, three Iberian Cups and already a lot of respect at the most famous international seven a side tournaments.

A former Portuguese international before injury curtailed his playing career after 22 caps, Morais has proven an inspirational coach and one whose passion for the game constantly drives him on the next challenge.

“If you will, then you can! And if you want, then you’ll succeed!” – these words drive Tomaz on is daily mission. What motivates him most are the players, the passion for rugby and the fact of feeling lucky and blessed for being one of those people in the world who do what they really love doing!

Tomaz Morais is a positive born person and thinker. He has been in charge of Portugal’s national team since 2001!  He surprised the world of rugby since then, earning a nomination for the IRB International Coach of the Year award in 2004. All due to his achievement in putting Portugal on the International rugby media
