Dave Alred is regarded by players, coaches and the media as the best in the world at his craft. He leads the field in mental preparation, skills acquisition and performing under pressure.

He has been an England assistant coach for over 106 tests and a British Lions assistant for three tours. He was inaugurated into the UK Coaching Hall of Fame, awarded the Mussabini Medal (2003) for outstanding success on the world stage and honoured with an MBE in 2004.

His obsession for discovering the ‘Holy Grail’ of coaching, learning and performing under pressure led to the completion of his Doctorate at Loughborough University (2005). Not resting on that achievement, he is searching with even more vigour and enthusiasm.

Dave has achieved a ‘full house’ within rugby union; victorious Lions Tour of South Africa ’97, Triple Crown Winners ’98, ’00, ’01, ’02, Grand Slam ’03 and World Cup Winner 2003 in Australia. His reputation for coaching expertise covers both hemispheres and a range of sports at the highest level.

He has worked with both individuals and clubs in English Premiership Soccer, Gaelic Football in Ireland, the top teams and individuals in Rugby Union, Rugby League and recently the West Coast Eagles Australian Rules team, who won the 2006 Grand Final.

As well as coaching teams, he concentrates a great deal of time on developing individual performance, believing that this is the foundation of a team’s success. Recently the most notable has been his work with Jonny Wilkinson, Charlie Hodgson and Ollie Barkley. His student list includes England’s Rob Andrew, Lions Neil Jenkins and Australians Matthew Burke or David Campese, just to name a few. In soccer they include Joe Cole, David James, Shay Given, Mark Schwartzer and Richard Wright.

Dave has studied a wide range of training environments from dolphin training in Australia, fighter pilot training and selection in the Royal Navy, to Military and Police strategies for managing confusion and chaos. Add this to his rich and diverse elite sports experience and it provides a wealth of knowledge and practical experience for improving human performance and decision making under pressure.
